Sean is a local man of Tibetan origin. He opened his home and his heart to the first rare Western Travelers to venture this way in the 1983s. Talking with visitors and studying, when and wherever he could, he taught himself English, now Sean is the only person to fluently speak English locally.

 The gorge now is safe, nothing effect the gorge by earthquake, officially open up for the tourist by sept 14th 2013, all the local people is every thing fine, nothing is damage, you don't have to worry about take the car in to the gorge or hike the  all gorge, the guesthouse all is still fine with property, don't listen to all self-hold business bad news about gorge, weather is just start sunny and here is hot area, every day we have bread van pick up people from lijiang at 6pm, enter gorge by 8pm, at least official worker was off the work! You can be enter gorge with out pay entrance fee, The public bus was not that free choice for your , crowded and limited time to leave, at list you don't fell peace. So we suggest you to take the private car to the gorge by the evening, safe your time and stay peace clean guesthouse, keep a way from the noise, see the bright star, see the vertical mountain, fell deepest gorge in the world, enjoy quiet night and great food in the gorge! We took Sean's 2-day eco-tour from Lijiang with 2 nights at the Guest House. Coming from Lijiang in the mist and pouring rain, the gorge road to the Guest House was, well, quite an experience - but we had a warm and efficient welcome at Sean's and were shown to a very nice room, with a nice bathroom, comfortable bed, and all wood finish. We walked a bit that day in the rain - still amazing views tho - and had a nice dinner. The next day we walked with Sean up the ridge of one of the nearby peaks via tiny paths through fields and woods - spectacular views and didn't meet another soul all day apart from the farmers in the village we visited on the way back down and some free-range pigs and cows. Definitely worth getting off the beaten track for, although we would never have found the way up without a guide. By the way, the guidebooks say to come in May and June for wildflowers, but we came in mid-August and the place was covered with them. We sat up that night looking at the views with other guests. Next morning, we walked by ourselves down to the river and left about lunch time. Service and comfort was uniformly excellent, food was great and the walking as good as we've seen. Definitely come to Tiger Leaping Gorge, and definitely stay at Sean's.

Day 5, Have breakfast, private car one and half hour drive to Haba village, two and half hours drive up to bai shui tai (white water terrace), we could choose for hike three hours up and down to see the traditional Naxi and Yi; Hui minority people with work in the fields terrace, have lunch At Yi farmily. Then two hours drive back to Sean’s place, Dinner and over night in Sean’s 

Day 6, Have breakfast, trekking down to the Gorge river to fell the river power ,then come back about two hours trip, private car drive out to Lijiang ,Shangri-la or the other place !!
